Overview

We believe that our people are our most valuable asset, and we support team members in their quest for ongoing professional education, growth and development. To that end, Populus will reimburse team members up to $500 per calendar year for professional and education development opportunities directly related to your career growth at Populus. This amount does not roll into the next calendar year; it is forfeited if not used.

It is your responsibility to seek out the courses, events, resources, and other trainings that will enhance your career development and which are in line with our mission. Professional and educational development can be obtained through attendance at seminars, educational courses or webinars, and even degree or certificate programs that will assist you in performing the essential job functions of your role and enhance your ability to contribute to the organization.

Eligible team members (as defined below) are entitled to take up to five (5) working days per year for professional development, subject to approval from your manager.

Process

To take advantage of this benefit, you must formally request permission from your manager to attend and to receive reimbursement for a desired educational or development opportunity. The request must include all pertinent details regarding the course of study, purpose, job relevance, cost, dates, times of coursework and the name of the institution or source of training.

Upon satisfactory completion of the training and/or coursework, the employee must provide documentation to support completion and proof of payment to receive reimbursement. Receipts must be submitted through Abacus in a timely manner.

Eligibility

All regular full-time employees, who are in good performance standing, are eligible after six (6) months of employment.

Repayment in the Event of Separation

If the employee separates from the company within a six (6) month period from the date of the educational or professional development reimbursement, they will be required to repay a prorated amount to the organization.

Please note that the receipt of professional development reimbursement may be considered taxable income for the team member.
